Good news, everyone! 4K Download has rolled out a feature-packed update for its popular 4K Video Downloader Plus, which brings users greater control over their downloads, enhanced app stability, and a smoother overall experience.

Original Audio Option Added

Many of you have requested this feature! The latest version of 4K Video Downloader Plus introduces an 'Original Audio' option when using Smart Mode or downloading playlists and channels. Users can now choose the original audio track, along with previously available options like specific languages or all audio tracks.

Similar Video Recommendations

Now you don’t even need to leave the app to download the videos you might like! The new update brings a video recommendation feature, which makes it easier for users to discover more content in line with their interests.

This feature can be enabled or disabled in the settings, and videos can be downloaded with a single click. Simply head over to Preferences -> Notification -> Show similar video recommendations -> On. Once this toggle is on, you’ll start receiving notifications with suggestions of videos related to the ones you’ve already downloaded. Note that you have to download at least five videos to receive the notification with recommendations of similar clips.

Improved Login-Protected Downloads

Accessing login-protected content on YouTube is now more intuitive, thanks to a new 'Log In' prompt that simplifies the process.

Enhanced Download Reliability

The update fixes several issues affecting link parsing and downloading from Twitch, Vimeo, and Bitchute. YouTube link downloading has also been stabilized, ensuring more consistent performance.

Easier Navigation and Download Management

Several UI and UX improvements make the app more user-friendly:

• 'Show in Folder' is now available for playlist and channel subscriptions without items.

• You can now download or subscribe to a channel directly from a playlist item.

• Playlists and channels now display a total time estimate, helping users manage their downloads more effectively.

Improved File Numbering and Item Order

File numbering under the 'Numerate files...' setting has been fixed to maintain the correct sequence. Additionally, item order is now preserved when Smart Mode is off, with further fixes for Smart Mode expected in the next update.

Consistent Logic and Behavior

Subscription downloads now respect selected audio languages, and m3u files are generated once per playlist rather than per item. Updates also address issues with long names and paths, window resizing on restart, and pop-up management.

Stability and Localization Enhancements

Users can expect a more stable experience overall, with fixes for silent crashes, Windows handle leaks, and clearer error messages. Translations have also been improved for German, French, and Chinese (both Mainland and Taiwanese).

Streamlined Windows Installation

The update introduces cleaner Windows installs, fully removing the 32-bit version when a 64-bit version is installed over it. Additionally, MSI handling over the online installer has been refined for smoother updates.

However, for Windows 64-bit users, the 32-bit app will now automatically update to the 64-bit version. As future updates may not be available for 32-bit systems, users are encouraged to switch to 64-bit to continue receiving the latest improvements.
