The latest version of 4K Video Downloader Plus (25.3.0) is here, and it brings a host of improvements designed to make the app more accessible, reliable, and user-friendly. Better screen reader support, faster parsing and clearer download actions are just a few things this release focuses on to smooth out everyday use for everyone.
4K Video Downloader Plus Has Become More Accessible
This is one of the most long-awaited improvements you’ve been asking us to implement. One of the biggest highlights of this release is full support for keyboard navigation and screen readers. Now, all interactive elements, including buttons, sliders, checkboxes, and dropdown menus, are properly announced to screen readers with their respective hints.
Other accessibility upgrades include:
- Improved focus handling in the main download list and Preferences window.
- Predictable navigation across menus and embedded browser controls.
- Clear announcements for all window titles.
- Keyboard navigation fixes for the “Paste Link” dropdown menu.
Future updates will continue improving accessibility, particularly around main menu navigation.
Better Localization
Subtitle and audio handling got a refresh too. The app now correctly names subtitle files for playlists and channels that use “Default” subtitles, regardless of whether Smart Mode is on or off. The “Original” label for audio tracks has also been clarified, making it easier to identify the right file.
Faster, More Reliable Parsing
Parsing links is faster and more robust in this release. The app now avoids unnecessary subtitle requests from YouTube, which means fewer temporary restrictions and smoother downloads. Some key fixes include:
- Faster parsing and fewer slowdowns on YouTube.
- No more misleading “private video” errors when YouTube simply asks you to sign in.
- Restored support for parsing BiliBili and Flickr links and Vimeo thumbnails.
Clearer Download Actions
Actions within the app are now more consistent and easier to follow. Pasting a link while viewing a playlist or channel will now take you directly to the new item. “Paste Link” now shows clearer labels for “Watch Later,” “Liked,” and “Download Audio” when Smart Mode is set to audio.
Playlists and channels now auto-select the Default audio track language when Smart Mode is off.
Behavior Is Now More Consistent
Finally, this version irons out many small but noticeable issues:
- Default subtitles in subscriptions now persist across restarts.
- Long video names are handled correctly.
- The “Paste Link” menu and “Install Update” button display properly.
- Playlist download progress counters now reflect real progress.
- Empty subscriptions show a spinner only when actively updating.
- The installer help screen now lists the correct command-line options.
All of these changes add up to a smoother, more predictable experience, no matter how you use 4K Video Downloader Plus.
Download the new version today and enjoy a more accessible, reliable, and intuitive 4K Video Downloader Plus.
