The latest 4K Video Downloader Plus 25.4.0 Beta is here, and it’s a big one. This release brings major breakthroughs in YouTube compatibility, introduces a new built-in browser, and makes the app smoother and more reliable across all platforms.
Here’s what’s new.
A New YouTube Bypass: We’re One Step Ahead Again!
If you’ve been getting the dreaded “403: Forbidden” error or couldn’t download login-protected videos, that’s history. The new version comes with a breakthrough YouTube bypass that restores full access to formats and login-protected links.
Parsing afterconsent.youtube.comredirects and YouTube link-type detection are also fixed, meaning the app now reads YouTube links more accurately. Right now, parsing may feel a little slower than usual, that’s temporary. The next update will address this.
All-New Built-In Browser
To overcome YouTube’s latest protections, we had to move to a completely new built-in browser. It’s faster, more stable, and compatible with modern sites. Now, you can log in reliably to Google, Twitch, Vimeo, Facebook, and TikTok accounts to access your private or login-protected content without trouble.
Other fixes:
-
Blank pages on macOS ARM are gone.
-
TikTok videos now display in full height.

And one more thing: because this is an entirely new browser with a different cookie storage system, you’ll need to log in again to your accounts to access private and login-protected content.

Under the Hood: New Core Libraries
Updating the browser meant updating everything else, too. This update refreshes the app’s technical core, improving compatibility, security, and stability. The minimum OS requirements are now Windows 10 64-bit and macOS 12.
macOS users will especially notice the difference:
-
No more garbled text.
-
Smooth scrolling in Control Panel with trackpad or Magic Mouse.
-
The Dock icon disappears properly after quitting the app.
Redesigned Main Menu
This redesign became possible thanks to the new Qt framework, which is a step forward in both usability and accessibility. Windows and Linux users get a new main menu that finally behaves the way it should.
It now always stays within the app window, even with multiple monitors, and works seamlessly with keyboard shortcuts and screen readers.

"Clear All" Option Is Back!
You asked for this, and we made it: “Clear All” is back in the Control Panel. Smart Mode now groups subtitle regional variants by language, and items that failed to download without login will reanalyze automatically once you sign in.

Consistent Logic & Better Navigation
Small things matter when you download a lot. This version fixes dozens of tiny but meaningful behaviors to make the app feel more consistent:
-
Language and subtitle preferences now persist even with Smart Mode off.
-
Dubbed audio preference in subscriptions stays saved.
-
Batch parse errors now show “Reload” instead of “Resume.”
-
Tooltips and menus stay within the app window.
-
Better keyboard and screen-reader navigation across the board.
Improved Stability
-
Playlists with apostrophes now restore properly and display their covers.
-
In-app update reliability improved.
-
Several crashes eliminated.
-
Long error messages trimmed for clarity.
Reliable Parsing
The app now parses TikTok embedded videos, Rumble links, and Xvideos links correctly and consistently.
