As you might have noticed, in-app subscriptions in 4K Video Downloader 4.24.0 now download not only videos but also Shorts and Live streams from YouTube channels. After this update, we’ve received controversial feedback from you: some are glad this option is back, while others don’t want Shorts to be downloaded to their devices. We understand the frustration, as well as the satisfaction regarding this function. Fortunately, there’s an option to improve the user experience for both groups. In this post, we’ll show you a workaround for Shorts and Live streams.
Why We Changed the Subscription Mechanism
4K Video Downloader and 4K YouTube to MP3 depend on video platforms. If one of the platforms changes something, users might face some performance issues when saving videos from this particular source. Several months ago, YouTube changed the look of its Channels, and now all videos are stored in different tabs: standard videos, Shorts and Lives. As a result of this change, you might have problems updating your in-app subscriptions in 4K Video Downloader.
We managed to fix it; however, automatic downloading of Shorts and Live streams wasn’t possible. We received a lot of requests to add this functionality, so the developers managed to do it.
How It Works Now in 4K Video Downloader 4.24
4K Video Downloader 4.24.0 now has several options that should cover your needs.
Option 1. Download the whole channel
If you want to download all the content from a YouTube channel (videos, Shorts, Live streams), you need to add a subscription like that: https://www.youtube.com/@NoCopyrightSounds/featured
Open the channel you want to subscribe to, press the Home button and copy the link from the browser.
Then add it to 4K Video Downloader.
Option 2. Download only specific content type
If you want to download only standard videos, Shorts or Live, you need to open the necessary tab and copy the generated link from the browser:
https://www.youtube.com/@NoCopyrightSounds/videos — to get only single videos from the YouTube channel.
https://www.youtube.com/@NoCopyrightSounds/shorts — to get only Shorts.
3) https://www.youtube.com/@NoCopyrightSounds/streams — to get only Live streams from a particular channel.
In this case, the subscription title will include the type of content you want to download. Hope it helps!
