How to Post on Instagram from PC

To manage an Instagram account effectively, solely a smartphone app is no longer enough. Social media managers, brands, content creators and regular Instagram users should know how to post content on Instagram from PC.

And if instant publishing is not always convenient, there is a necessity to schedule Instagram posts and stories for later.

In this piece, the 4K Download team reveals how you can post on Instagram from PC using any of these tools:

  • Instagram web

  • Combin Scheduler

  • Facebook Creator Studio

  • Browser extensions

  • Android emulator

Let's consider each of them in detail.

Post from PC Using Instagram Web

Starting 2021, Instagram finally allows users to post media to the platform from their desktop computers. To do so, simply log in to your Instagram account from PC or Mac and find the plus icon at the top panel. Press on it.

Then just follow the guide on the screen. You will be able to upload photos and videos on the Instagram feed.

Post on Instagram from PC with Combin Scheduler

If Instagram feed post publishing is not enough for you and you want to schedule your posts for later or even schedule Instagram stories , you should use a free desktop tool Combin Scheduler .

With Combin Scheduler, you can plan Instagram posts and stories in advance, upload multiple stories to publish at once, add a link to be published in bio along with your content, edit image sizes, tag locations and users in posts’ captions, add and manage your hashtags, and change Instagram fonts .

The content publishing is automatic, so you won’t be distracted with notifications to manually post the content; it will simply appear on your grid.

The app is absolutely free to use with no hidden fees or trial periods.

Creator Studio on Facebook

This way of posting with the official Facebook tool is suitable for those who want to post on a regular basis. After authorisation in Creator Studio through your browser, you will be able to add and delete media, set up scheduled posting and page insights.

Following the instructions, enter the login and password from the desired Instagram account, and confirm the link to Facebook from your smartphone.

Stories scheduling or publishing is not yet available.

Browser Extensions to Post on Instagram from PC

Chrome browser extensions for Instagram publishing are another option you may choose. Browser extensions usually work as emulators, which means with their help, you can open an Instagram account from a PC just like you’d do on your smartphone.

When the installation process is complete, click on the extension’s icon in the upper right corner of the browser and enable the installed extension.

Some of such extensions are Extension for Instagram, Inssist, and others.

An extension icon will appear next to the address bar, among other extensions.

The disadvantage of this option is that you can’t properly crop images and apply some other settings.

BlueStacks Android Emulator

Another option to post on Instagram from PC is to use the so-called Android emulators, such as BlueStacks. BlueStacks is a handy program that you can easily download on your computer.

This is an emulator that can fully recreate the functionality of the Android Instagram app on a desktop computer.

The drawback of using such software is that it weighs a lot so that it can slow down the workflow of your PC.

To upload a photo, it will be enough to drag it into the emulator window, which will display a list of applications to send. All processing functions will be available to you, including filters and cropping. You can also add a caption, hashtags, tag people and publish the post from your computer. All actions are similar to the mobile application.

Official Instagram App for Windows 10

The Windows 10 app allows users to film live streams, send messages in Instagram Direct, and download Stories . To use it to post your media from PC, you just need to take these simple steps:

  1. Open the desktop version of Instagram.

  2. Click on the camera icon.

  3. Select photos in folders.

  4. Allow access to the microphone and camera if you intend to broadcast.

It is not yet possible to add photos, but perhaps, this function will be implemented someday.
