Why Sign In to YouTube in 4K Download Apps?
Logging in to YouTube within 4K Video Downloader Plus and 4K YouTube to MP3 is optional, but it enables downloads and quality options available only to signed-in users.
Is It Safe to Log In?
Signing in is safe because the 4K Download apps never receive or store your password, and all authentication is handled entirely by Google, which means there is no risk of your data being exposed. None of your login information is sent to our servers. When you click the Log In button in the app, Google’s authorization window opens, and the entire sign-in process takes place securely there.
Depending on your Google account security settings, Google may request CAPTCHA or additional verification, such as two-factor authentication. After you enter your password, Google may also send a security notification about a login attempt from an unknown device, sometimes shown as an Apple iPad. This is expected and is how Google recognizes 4K Video Downloader Plus during authorization. You may also see “Apple iPad” in your device history in the Security section of your Google Account.
Why Sign In Within 4K Download Apps?
There are several reasons why it may be beneficial for you to log in to your YouTube account within 4K Video Downloader Plus and 4K YouTube to MP3.
-
Download content that requires authorization
When you log in, you can download content that YouTube limits to signed-in viewers, including age-restricted videos, your Watch Later playlist, your Liked videos playlist, and private videos or playlists you have access to.
-
Download paywalled YouTube content
Signing in lets you download paywalled content you already have access to. For example, if you’re subscribed to YouTube Premium, you can download videos from YouTube Premium (where available to your account). If you’re a member of a channel, you can also download members-only videos, as long as you’re signed in with the same YouTube account that has the membership.
-
Get the best audio quality YouTube offers
If you have an active YouTube Premium subscription, logging in to your YouTube account within 4K Video Downloader Plus or 4K YouTube to MP3 can unlock the highest audio-quality stream currently offered on YouTube Music (up to 256 kbps AAC).
Note: This doesn’t increase the bitrate of audio from regular YouTube videos, because YouTube delivers lower-quality audio (typically 128 kbps AAC) for standard video playback regardless of Premium, and our apps can only download what YouTube makes available.
-
Download more videos with fewer interruptions
When you’re authorized, your downloads tend to look more like normal YouTube usage, so you can often download large batches more smoothly and with fewer interruptions than in anonymous mode. This matters even if you’re only downloading public videos, because heavy, repeated requests without authorization are more likely to trigger extra checks and temporary limitations during parsing or downloading.
Important: If you download very large volumes, we also recommend using a separate Google account dedicated to downloading and authorizing our apps with that account. It keeps bulk downloading separate from your main account’s everyday use and reduces the chance that your account history, recommendations, and security notifications get cluttered with download-related activity.
