How to Fix Parsing and Downloading Issues in 4K Video Downloader Plus and 4K YouTube to MP3
Common Causes
-
Website Changes
Platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok regularly update their code and content delivery methods. Such changes can temporarily disrupt compatibility with our applications, leading to errors or failed downloads.
-
Site Restrictions
Some videos have age limits, regional blocks, private or unlisted status, or require account access (for example, YouTube Premium content or private watchlists). Make sure you’re logged into your YouTube account in the app and have the necessary permissions to access the content.
-
Settings or Software Conflicts
Other software, such as antivirus, firewall, or VPN, as well as incorrect proxy settings, outdated or corrupted app files, or operating system restrictions (e.g., folder access permissions), can interfere with downloads.
What You Can Do
-
Restart your computer. This simple action can resolve temporary glitches or stuck processes.
-
Check for updates. Make sure you’re using the latest version of the application. Updates often include fixes for recent website changes. In the menu bar of 4K Video Downloader Plus or 4K YouTube to MP3, click Tools > Check for Updates. If an update is available, you can install it directly from the app or download the latest version on our website.
-
Try a different supported website. Download from another supported platform to see if the problem is specific to one site.
-
Log in to YouTube via the app. Use the Control Panel in 4K Video Downloader Plus or 4K YouTube to MP3 to log in to your YouTube account. If you’re already logged in, log out and back in again to refresh the connection. You can also try a different YouTube account.
-
Change the download directory. In Smart Mode settings, select a folder where you have full access. Try downloading with Smart Mode enabled, then disabled, using a different folder each time. In both 4K Video Downloader Plus and 4K YouTube to MP3, you can find this option in Tools > Preferences > General.
-
Temporarily disable antivirus, firewall, or VPN. Turn off these programs while downloading to check if they’re interfering. If this helps, add 4K Video Downloader Plus or 4K YouTube to MP3 to their whitelist.
-
Use a VPN if the video is region-locked or your IP is blocked. If you can’t play the video in your browser or see a CAPTCHA in incognito mode, try changing your IP with a VPN. You can also refer to our instructions for downloading blocked videos.
-
Reinstall the application. If nothing else works, uninstall the app completely (including related data), then reinstall it. Make sure not to delete anything from your output/download folder. Here is how to fully uninstall 4K Video Downloader on your computer:
On Windows:
- Click on the search bar next to the Start menu.
- Type “regedit” and press Enter.
- If prompted, click “Yes” to allow changes
- The Registry Editor will open. In the left panel, navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\4kdownload.com - Right-click the 4K Video Downloader Plus folder and select Delete.
- Close the Registry Editor and restart your computer.
On macOS:
- Open Finder.
- Hold down the Option key on your keyboard. While holding it, click the Go menu at the top of the screen.
- In the drop-down menu, select “Library” (it will appear only while you’re holding the Option key).
- In the Library folder, open the Preferences folder.
- Find and delete these files:
- com.4kdownload.4K Video Downloader+.plist
- com.openmedia.4kvideodownloader+.plist - After deleting these files, restart your computer.
Once the uninstall is complete, download the latest version of the application from our site, install it, and check if the issue is resolved.
