How to Fix the Can’t Create File Error
If you encounter the error message “Can’t create file” when downloading with 4K Video Downloader Plus or 4K YouTube to MP3, it typically means that the selected folder doesn’t allow file saving. This is often caused by insufficient permissions or trying to download to a system or root directory.
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Choose a folder with the correct permissions. You need to select a folder where you have full access rights (for example, your Videos, Downloads, or Documents folder). Avoid system folders or the root directory, as these often restrict write access.
If you’re using Smart Mode:
- Click Browse in the Smart Mode settings. Refer to the screenshot below for the location of the Browse option.
- In the drop-down menu, select a folder you have permission to use (such as Videos or Downloads).
If you’re in manual mode, or working with 4K YouTube to MP3:
- When the download window appears, click Browse next to the file path at the bottom of the window (see the screenshot below).
- Select a folder you have access to (again, avoid system or root directories).
2. Download the video After selecting the correct folder, click Download. The video should now save without any errors.
Tip: If you continue to see the error, double-check that the folder exists and that you have permission to write files there. Creating a new folder within your user directory (like C:\Users\YourName\Videos) is often the simplest solution.
