How to Fix TikTok Downloading Issues
If you’re experiencing problems downloading TikTok videos with 4K Tokkit, follow this guide to resolve the most common issues and get your downloads working smoothly again.
-
Check for Updates
Make sure you’re using the latest version of 4K Tokkit. Updates often include important fixes and improvements. In the app’s menu bar, click Tools > Check for Updates. If an update is available, you can install it directly from the app or download the latest version on our website.
-
Restart the Application
Sometimes, configuration updates require a full restart of the app.
- Close 4K Tokkit completely (make sure it’s not running in the tray or background).
- Reopen the app and try downloading again.
-
Log In with Your TikTok Credentials
Some downloads require you to be logged in.
- In the menu bar, click Tools > Log In and sign in to your TikTok account.
- If you’re already logged in, try logging out and back in.
Note: The login feature is available only for paid plans.
-
Change Your IP Address Within Your Country
Network issues or IP restrictions can sometimes cause download problems. Try switching to a different network or using a VPN/proxy located in your own country.
Important: Before changing your network or IP address, make sure 4K Tokkit is fully closed (not running in the tray or background). After changing your network, reopen the app and try again.
-
Try a VPN or Proxy in a Different Country
If changing your network within your country doesn’t help, try connecting to a VPN or proxy in a different country.
- Again, close 4K Tokkit completely before switching networks.
- After connecting to a new location, reopen the app and try downloading again.
-
Disable Firewall, Antivirus, or Other Interfering Software
Security software can sometimes block 4K Tokkit’s connection to TikTok.
- Temporarily disable your firewall, antivirus, or any other program that may interfere.
- If this solves the issue, add 4K Tokkit to the whitelist or exceptions of your security software for uninterrupted use.
-
Change the Output Folder
Problems with the download location can also cause errors.
- In the menu bar, click Tools > Preferences and select a different output folder.
- Make sure the folder is on your internal hard drive, you have permission to write to it, and there is enough free space.
