How Automatic Title Translation Works on YouTube
You may have noticed when browsing YouTube that some videos get their titles randomly translated (like an Italian video showing an English title) while similar videos from the same language stay in their original form.
It happens because YouTube’s translation decisions depend on several factors. These include your account language settings, geographic location, watch history, and browser language, among others. Most importantly, they depend on whether each creator has manually added translated title versions through YouTube Studio. When a creator provides an English translation for their Italian video, YouTube serves it to you if your preferences match. If another creator skips adding translations, you see their original Italian title instead.
The result is inconsistent behavior across videos. Translation feels arbitrary because it hinges on per-video metadata choices rather than uniform platform logic. Search results might auto-translate for better discoverability. Individual video pages often revert to their original versions. Unfortunately, you can’t fully control title translations on YouTube because some factors are beyond user control, but with 4K Video Downloader Plus, you can save all videos with consistently uniform title formatting.
How Automatic Title Translation Works in 4K Video Downloader Plus
4K Video Downloader Plus doesn’t generate translations. It downloads the title text that YouTube makes available in your session. For free users, the practical driver is your operating system language, because you cannot set a different title language inside the app. But even with the same system language, results can differ across videos. This is expected because localized titles aren’t guaranteed and often exist only when the creator has added translated title metadata for that specific video. Premium users can change what YouTube considers “preferred” by switching YouTube’s interface language in the built‑in browser before downloading.
Note: If you are logged in to YouTube in 4K Video Downloader Plus, the Default audio track may follow your account’s viewing habits and can differ from the title or subtitle language. In that case, select the Original audio track manually if you need the source language.
Solution for Premium Users
The simplest approach is to set the desired language first, then start the download, so filenames reflect the intended title language whenever YouTube provides a localized version.
Set the YouTube language in the built-in browser

Open the in-app browser. If your download list is empty, the browser area is already visible in the lower part of the main window (address/search field plus service icons).
If you already have downloaded items and see the list, click the browser bar at the bottom of the window to reveal the browser panel.

Open YouTube in the in-app browser. Click the YouTube icon in the service row, or type youtube.com in the address/search field and click Go.

Change YouTube’s interface language. On YouTube, open the profile menu (top-right) and select Language, then choose the language you want in the drop-down list.
Download the video using the selected language

Open the video on YouTube. Stay in the built-in browser, then use YouTube search or paste the video URL into the browser’s address/search field and click Go.

Start the download. On the YouTube video page inside 4K Video Downloader Plus, click Download next to the video you want to save.

Double-check the Default choices. The app’s Default behavior is meant to align the video title, subtitles, and audio with the current language context, but the audio track can still be preselected incorrectly.
In the download settings window, find the Audio tracks setting in the lower-right corner. Toggle it to open the list of languages, then select the Original option.

Download the file. Choose the remaining settings and click Download.
